DANCE TEAM HEADSHOT
Recently, a former client needed a headshot to present with her application to try out for the University of Maryland Dance Team.
Harper requested headshots that reflected her outgoing personality and energy. An 8 x 10 headshot was required to submit with her application to try out for the University of Maryland Dance Team. She met me after work for her headshots in Ijamsville.
BEST COLORS TO WEAR FOR HEADSHOTS
Harper arrived well prepared with a duffle bag full of tops from which to choose. I suggested soft muted tones because the focus for a headshot is your beautiful face. Soft powder blues, pinks, grays, off-white and creams are best. Long sleeves are best if you are seldom happy with the look of your arms in photos. With Harper trying out for the dance team, we needed to show both dance and professional attire. Here are a couple with her first top.
The focus is Harper’s winning smile and beautiful eyes. The soft lavender color complimented her features and did not distract from her pretty face.
The two ceiling-to-floor windows allowed for sunlight to stream and bounce off the walls for a bright fresh look. Using a combination of natural light and portrait studio lighting allows for bright eyes and even skin tones.
The classic black was a must for Harper’s dance portfolio.
For the third wardrobe change we opted for a long-sleeves off-white blouse which gives a fresh, feminine, and professional look. I love this look on Harper.
Harper asked if I would also take some images of her doing some of her favorite dance jumps.
We were able to shoot all of these shots in under and hour. It doesn’t need to be any harder than that. Harper was thrilled with her images. It was a pleasure working with Harper and hearing about all that goes into learning the dance routines and being in top shape for tryouts.
Great News! Since these images were taken, Harper found out that she did make the University of Maryland Dance Team! She is so excited to begin her journey at the University Of Maryland, College Park.
